Backend Developer (NestJS, TypeScript strict, PostgreSQL)

At Cobra Studio, we’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer with focus on NestJS, strict TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. This role will primarily focus on a field service SaaS product, while also contributing to other platforms across blockchain infrastructure, manufacturing quality, and AI-driven health solutions. This is a full time and remote position with USD compensation. Advanced english level is required (C1).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in backend development.
  • Proactive using Coding Agents in AI Tools; such as Claude (prefered) Copilot or ChatGPT to enhance productivity.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript using strict mode across the codebase.
  • Solid experience with NestJS, including modular architecture, controllers, services, guards, decorators, and dependency injection.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including relational database design, query optimization, and schema management.
  • Experience with Sequelize v6 and sequelize-typescript for models, associations, migrations, and transactions.
  • Proven experience designing and building REST APIs, including CRUD patterns, DTOs, validation, and error handling.
  • Experience with JWT and Passport.js authentication strategies.
  • Familiarity with class-validator and class-transformer.
  • Experience working with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Knowledge of AWS S3 for file uploads using presigned URLs.
  • Good Git practices including branching strategies, pull requests, and conventional commits.

Nice to have (it's a plus)

  • WebSockets (Socket.io).
  • Swagger, Jest + Supertest.
  • Handlebars email templates.
